Cana Ventura
With this family residence that is shared with three kids, the owners wanted to achieve a modern family home with clean lines, yet not too minimalistic. ‘Homely’ and ‘lived in’ were the key concepts that the design revolved around.
The existing house was typical of a Spanish style villa set on a large property, overlooking the ocean and with views of the city.
The location shouted natural materials and allowed for a warm, neutral palette. The island is known for its stonemasons and the amazing work they do. This became part of a very strong angled entrance wall, which runs from the entrance door through the entrance hall and into the circulation space. The interiors were also driven by functionality as our client’s wife is an avid foodie, who even has her own cooking show. The end result is a stylish and functional family home.
